The Papal Visit Playbook was posted online Aug. 24 by organizers of the World Meeting of Families (WMOF), a Vatican-sponsored international gathering of families.

While many details continue to be worked out, the Pope's two big public events will take place on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. He’ll attend the closing ceremonies of the WMOF on Sept. 26, and celebrate Mass late Sunday afternoon.

The playbook provides people with a wide-ranging overview of information related to the WMOF Congress, which begins on Sept. 22, and Papal Visit. The resource guide includes event listings, recommendations on how people can participate, transportation options, security notices and other useful information.
"This living document not only focuses on how to navigate the city during this one weekend, but also highlights all of the ways in which residents can be part of this once-in-a-lifetime experience beyond attendance at the Papal events on Saturday and Sunday," said Donna Crilley, executive director for the WMOF - Philadelphia 2015. "This event is for everyone and we sincerely hope that the Papal Visit Playbook serves as both a guide and a thought starter for residents' planning in the coming five weeks."
The guide will be updated throughout the coming weeks and will eventually include walking maps, transportation notifications and a list of what people are prohibited from bringing with them to the Parkway Mass.
