Amid the animosity thrown at New Jersey Congressional Republicans over attendance at public meetings in their districts, or lack of it, no one's been lobbing slurs at Democrats. So it seems likely that Monmouth Democrat Frank Pallone (D-6) can expect a comparative walk in the park when he conducts one on Sunday, March 26, in Highland Park.

Pallone, whose Congressional district also includes 12 Middlesex County communities, held a Twitter survey to determine an appropriate date and time. The response, he said, favored a weekend, during the day.

The venue is the Highland Park Senior/Youth Center. He offered no explanation into the selection of the venue. The Monmouth portion of his district contains 20 communities.

"With so many pressing issues facing our nation, it is apriority of mine to make sure I am reaching out to my constituents and allowing their voices to be heard," Pallone said in prepared remarks.

"I look forward to having a respectful and productive conversation with my constituents about the future of New Jersey and our country."

The real sticking point of the in-person town hall meeting uproar is that the targeted Congressmen didn't actually organize them, but were invited to them, apparently with no insight into whether the dates fit their actual schedules

Repesentative Tom MacArthur (R-3) has held at least two town-hall meetings by conference calling with constituents, and took questions for a solid hour during WOBM-AM's "Ask The Congressman" this month.

Residents in Pallone's 6th Congressional District can register on line for the live town hall meeting here, or here. Those without Internet access can call Pallone's Long Branch office, 732-561-1140.

Pallone and MacArthur appear alternately on "Ask The Congressman." If you missed this month's edition::
