This is the time of year that so many Jersey Shore residents have been waiting for. Yes Jersey Shore, it's our summer time!

Labor Day weekend has come and gone. The crowds will subside. The traffic will lighten. The beaches and boardwalk are ours again. We can find parking, tables at restaurants and and quiet roadways.

We can hear the sea gulls, walk 25 feet on the beach without getting hit by a football or frisbee, and actually get in our cars and arrive somewhere on time, without encountering some surprise traffic.

And we can go a half hour without giving someone directions. Now don't get me wrong. We love the summer, we love the summer business and we appreciate people spending their hard earned money vacationing here at the sure.

But I compare the feeling we get when Labor Day passes and "our summer" begins with the feeling we get after a long vacation. We had a great time, but it's nice to be home and sleep in our own bed and shower in our own bathroom.

So congratulations Jersey Shore for being wonderful hosts again this summer. Now it's our turn. Enjoy "our summer".
