Let’s go back to March of 2020. We were just beginning to hear about Covid 19 and we were just beginning to feel the Conronavirus Pandemic. It was time for the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Seaside Heights. It was my 24th parade and I never thought it would get bumped, but this year all has changed. Last year’s Ocean County St. Patrick’s Day Parade was our last holiday event before the Covid shut down.

Here we are a year later.....and although there is a vaccine that has come to us at warp-speed, we are still being proactive in stopping the spread by wearing masks and practicing social distancing. So although we are all disappointed, the Ocean County St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee has decided to cancel this year's parade in Seaside Heights and let’s hope the luck of the Irish will keep us safe and we’ll be back bigger and better next year. We are close to getting through this, lets just try hard for the next several months to stay healthy and then we raise a pint of Guinness next year for St. Patrick's Day.....or like me, do it at home this year :) Don’t wanna see a good pint go to waste do we?

The Ocean County St. Patrick's Day Parade committee has posted the cancellation notice on their Facebook  page. Let’s hope this will be the only year we see this annual tradition get canceled.
