NJ’s JOEY DEE of “Peppermint Twist” Is 77 Today

He was born and raised in Passaic, New Jersey and found steady work in NYC's famous Peppermint Lounge in the early 1960s. He also appeared in a few rock and roll motion pictures, including Hey, Let's Twist. He's JOEY DEE and he's 77 today - most famous for the #1 smash hit "Peppermint Twist" in 1961. Before the hits, the Joey and his group, the Starliters performed on Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour in 1956. A few of the members of Joey's band later morphed into the Rascals of "Good Lovin'" fame.
