MOORESTOWN -- Members of the State Police will be assisting the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department with the inaugural ceremony.

Officers from the Moorestown Station as well as members of the the New Jersey State Police Incident Management Team left for Washington on Wednesday. They'll get their assignments on Thursday, along with other departments from around the country that are also assisting with the swearing in of President-elect Donald Trump.

The NJSP-IMT will be available to assist with any emergency situations that may come up on Friday, during the 58th inaugural.

"These mutual aid partnerships make all of our agencies stronger as we lean on each other when our resources are tested, and I am confident that our troopers will proudly represent New Jersey during their assignment to contribute to the safety and success of the day," State Police Supt. Col. Rick Fuentes said.

The MPDC will reimburse State Police for travel and salary costs.
