FAIRVIEW — Thanks to a GPS device placed on his ex girlfriend's car without her knowledge, a borough police officer was able to track her movements for nearly three months, the county prosecutor said.

Vache "Mike" Assadourian, 41, put the device on his former girlfriend's car without her knowing sometime in January until she found it on her car, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Thursday.

Assadourian is charged with one count of third-degree invasion of privacy, and one count of fourth-degree stalking.

The officer is due in court for his first appearance on April 12.
