The amazing journey that New Jersey teen Mara Justine took on the reboot of American Idol has come to an end.

Mara was not among the six members of American Idol's Top 10 that were chosen by America's vote, meaning the only way she could earn a spot in the top 10 would be one of the 4 saves chosen by the judges, but that was not to be either.

During the judging of Mara's final Idol performance, Katy Perry told her that often it is just a matter of timing, and related it to her career path. Both Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie said they were surprised America's vote didn't put her in the Top 10.

When you stop to think just how incredible it is for anyone to make it this far in the competition, let alone someone who at 16 was the youngest of the Top 14, then you can be nothing short of amazed at Mara's journey.

So we congratulate Mara on her amazing Idol run and we know she's going to have a great future. Mara, you represented New Jersey well. Great job!
