“We have required cleaner cars to be on our roadways, thereby reducing pollution,  we’ve required that twenty percent of our electricity come from renewable energy sources instead of fossil fuels and we’ve also made our homes and businesses more energy efficient,” said Matt Elliot, Clean Energy Advocate for Environment New Jersey.

A new report released today finds that the progress that’s been made not only in New Jersey, but across the Northeast, has reduced emissions at the same time there has been significant economic growth.  “New Jersey’s experience over the past decade gives us confidence that, with state leadership and more strong policies to promote clean energy and to limit carbon emissions, we can continue to make progress in meeting our goals for reducing the pollution that causes global warming,” said Elliot.
