The Little Egg Harbor man who was arrested January 30 for the alleged sexual assault of an underage girl, now faces additional charges of child pornography possession, related to what investigators believe is a second victim.

New charges against Milton Cortina, 40, were lodged February 1, after digital forensic investigators found new evidence, according to the office of Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.

Cortina remains in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, awaiting a detention hearing. He is ordered to avoid contact with the alleged victims, under terms of Nicole's Law.

Cortina was arrested at his residencel, culminating a probe that began in December 2016, under supervision of County Special Victims Unit Detective Stephanie Bayha and Little Egg Harbor PD Detectives Joel Mahr and Steven Martin.

At the time of his initial arrest, Cortina was charged with two first-degree counts of aggravated sexual assault, one first-degree count of child pornography production, second-degree charges of endangering the welfare of a child and possession of child pornography, and third-degree counts of aggravated criminal sexual contact and invasion of privacy.

Detectives added a second-degree pornography possession charge and a third-degree count of invasion of privacy Wednesday. Members of the Prosecutor's High Tech Crimes Unit and the Ocean County Sheriff's Crime Scene Investigaton squad unearthed "significant" digital forensic evidence in several electronic devices, authorities said.

Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and unitl found guilty in a court of law.
