Morning Weather Update – Forecast Change And More Snow
The Jersey Shore's forecast for winter weather this weekend has changed and more snow than originally expected is possible.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Ocean County and a Winter Weather Advisory for Monmouth County both in effect from 1:00am Saturday morning until 1:00am Sunday morning.
The National Weather Service is saying there is a possibility of 3 to 6 inches of snow in the area this weekend. So how does our Meteorologist Dan Zarrow read this storm, and what does he think we can expect?
Dan thinks that due to the fact that the system has come closer to the coast, areas west of the Parkway could see 3 to 4 inches, and along the coast we'll see about 2 inches.
During the heaviest of the snow, there will certainly be an impact on your ability to travel due to visibility and traction concerns. The heaviest snowfall should occur during the day tomorrow (Saturday).
You can stay up to date with Dan's latest forecast throughout the day today and all weekend long by visiting Dan's weather blog.
At least whatever is happening in the next 24-48 hours is happening on the weekend, making it a little less complicated, unless of course you had planned a full weekend schedule.
So we'll keep our eyes on things for you this weekend and maybe we can still squeeze in a little shopping.
