Monmouth County investigators arrest six in drug bust Wednesday

Five Monmouth County residents and a South Carolina man are face 16-drug and weapon related charges each as the result of a six-month narcotics investigation.

An executed search warrant Wednesday in the Schoolhouse Square Development in the Mid-town section of Neptune Township on Cherry Lane found loaded 9 mm handgun, a loaded 32 caliber revolver, Heroin, Crack Cocaine, Oxycodone, Prescription Narcotics, Prescription Legend Drugs, Marijuana, Hollow Point Bullets, Drug Packaging Paraphernalia and recovered $4,976.00 in U.S. currency.

Jamir Brown, 23, of Neptune Township, Kierre Cooper, 27, of Neptune Township, Kahron Spaulding, 19, of Neptune Township, Yamani Perez, 21, of Neptune Township, Shandell Hammary, 22, of Asbury Park and Shariff Hammond, 29 of Bowman, South Carolina were all arrested and face over a dozen charges.

Charges the suspects face are: Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin w/intent to Distribute, Possession of Heroin w/Intent to Distribute in Public Housing Zone, Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Crack Cocaine w/intent to Distribute, Possession of Crack Cocaine w/Intent to Distribute in Public Housing Zone, Possession of Oxycodone, Possession of Oxycodone w/Intent to Distribute, Possession of Oxycodone w/Intent to Distribute in Public Housing Zone, Possession of Prescription Legend Drugs, Possession of Prescription Narcotics, Possession of Codeine, Possession of a Weapon during a Narcotics Offense, Possession of Hollow Point Bullets, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Packaging Paraphernalia.

Brown and Cooper were also charged with Certain Persons not to Possess a weapon (2 counts).

Hammond was released on a summons, all the rest accused were held for a bail hearing under the bail reform guidelines and transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.

The Neptune Township Police Department Street Crimes Unit, Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Strike Force and Wall Township Police Department K-9 unit were on the scene Wednesday.
