A Middlesex County man who was pulled over for equipment violations on the car he was driving, is arrested for having various drugs inside the vehicle with him.

This all happened around 2:16 am Friday along State Highway 66 at Route 18 where an Ocean Township patrolman spotted a car heading through the Asbury Park traffic circle with equipment violations.

He then pulled the car over and during his investigation he found the driver, Minervo Taveras, 29, Highland Park, to be in possession of narcotics.

Taveras was then charged with possession of Gamma Hydroxybutyrate (GHB), possession of Methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He also had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest from New Brunswick.

Taveras was transported to the county jail pending his initial court appearance.
