Stephen Henry, 63, of Toms River, was apprehended at his Pinecroft Drive dwelling in Brick following searches of that home and his Cozy Way abode in Toms River on November 2, according to Brick Township police.

Henry was placed in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, with bail set at a full $450,000.

He faces a total of six first-. second-, third- and fourth-degree charges related to meth possession and intent to distribute, and two weapon-related counts.

Detectives said they seized about 200 grams of meth, six ounces, packaged for distribution, in the Toms River house, along with $237 believed to be drug proceeds.

The search of the Brick dwelling revealed a "small homemade explosive device," as police termed it, in the garage. Nearby residents were evacuated from their homes while the New Jersey State Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit disarmed the device.

Also involved in the investigation, over the span of several months, were members of the Brick PD Drug Enforcement Unit, Selective Enforcement Team, Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Special Operations Group.

Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
