Mantoloking officials have approved an additional $3 million to help one of New Jersey's hardest hit shore towns rebuild from Superstorm Sandy.

Monday's vote brings to more than $7 million that Mantoloking has spent to finance repairs to roads, sewer systems and municipal-owned property.

The Asbury Park Press reports the council also awarded separate contracts to demolish what remains of an estimated 40 homes. About 60 homes were swept away by Sandy and another 200 likely will be demolished.
