Brown faces a first-degree robbery charge and a second-degree weapons count in Point Pleasant Beach. An Ocean County Superior Court judge issued a $500,000 arrest warrant. Police warned that Brown should be considered armed and dangerous.

According to borough police, the 46-year-old victim recounted being approached at around 8 AM Sunday in front of the Green Planet coffee shop on Arnold Avenue. It was open at the time and patrons were inside, police said.

The man identified as Brown trained a handgun on the victim in an apparent robbery and carjacking attempt, took his wallet and keys, and ran, police said, adding that the victim was unhurt.

The gun has not been recovered and Brown is believed to have changed clothing afterward.

Brown is also sought for failing to register as a sex offender, authorities said. He's described as about 6'1" in height and believed to be familiar with East Orange and the surrounding vicinity.
