A Lakewood man was placed in handcuffs this morning for allegedly downloading and sharing child porn images.

39-year old John Jandola is charged with one count of 2nd degree distribution and one count of 3rd degree possession of child pornography.

He remains in the Ocean County jail until his first court appearance.

His arrest for his alleged lewd activity stems from a referral from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit into Jandola allegedly sharing and downloading images of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts.

A search warrant was executed on February 22 and investigators confiscated Jandola's personal computer at his Canterbury Court home and the evidence was taken back to the labs for a forensic examination.

Senior Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Kristin Pressman reviewed the investigative evidence alleging Jandola distributed and possessed images of children engaged in sexual acts and approved the above charges.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s High Tech Crime Unit (HTCU), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Lakewood Police Department worked together in this investigation.

The public is reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
