The case of Wednesday afternoon's homicides in Lacey Township is, for all intent and purposes, over, say Ocean County investigators, who now probe the circumstances as they place the death toll at three family members, and their dog.

Citing the need for family notifications, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office issued no identities of the vicitms in the house on Nautilus Boulevard. A 48-year-old woman, her seven-year-old son, and a Welsh Corgi were determined to be victims.

The husband and father, 51, died from self-inflicted wounds during hospitalization at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

Lacey police were first notified of a suspicious event at 4:02 PM, authorities said.

The Prosecutor's Major Crimes Unit, the Ocean County Sheriff's CSI Unit, the Ocean County Medical Examiner and Lacey Township Police have roles in reconstructing the events that led to the carnage.We'll provide additional details as they are issued.
