My kitchen is 25 years old, and the cabinets and countertop need replacing badly! When I say replacing I am not kidding.

Many of the shelves are warped, and I keep waiting for things to fall. There have been a couple of times when we have heard crashing sounds and ran into the kitchen and were greeted by dishes, bowls and other stuff that had fallen. It’s just a matter of time before it happens again.

The other problem is storage, or should I say lack of. We just didn’t have room for things, and over time it’s become more and more of a problem.

Plus, the countertop looks like a kitchen from a 1980’s TV show…it should because it’s from the 80’s. My wife Jane has done an amazing job of keeping things in the best possible condition, but 25 years old is 25 years old. We needed a kitchen makeover and needed it bad!

For years I have heard commercials about how great Classic Kitchens by Formica Works in Toms River is when it comes to taking old kitchens and making them new. So my wife and I stopped in to their showroom.

This is really not my thing, but I was really impressed by what they had to offer.  They came to our house and discussed ideas and our options, measured everything, and a short time later we returned to the store to go over the layout.  In just a short time my old kitchen is coming out, and the new one is coming in. I don’t want to tell my wife, but I’m pretty excited...I might even eventually learn to cook. Wait a second, that’s going a bit too far.

Anyway, I will keep you posted of the progress here and on-air, but if you are even thinking about getting a new kitchen or refacing your current cabinets, please see Ron and Judy first.
