A 17-year old is facing charges including aggravated assault for allegedly jumping from the bushes in a neighborhood in Keansburg, putting a knife to mans chest, then ordering him to empty his pockets on December 29.

Keansburg Police say the victim was walking with his brother in an undisclosed area, when the suspect jumped from the bushes at them.

While the victim was trying to get away he was thrown against a building and fell to the ground where the 17-year old suspect then allegedly picked his pockets and ran off.

Police found the alleged suspect a few blocks away and found the knife he used before transporting him to the Middlesex County Youth Detention Center.

He faces charges of Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

The victim required surgery for a broken leg.
