Jimmy Beaumont, the powerful lead singer and co-writer for one of the most iconic songs of the 1950s, "Since I Don't Have You," has died at the age of 76. Born in Pittsburgh, Beaumont's song is one of the most-often covered (by Trini Lopez, Barbra Streisand, Jay & the Americans, even Guns 'N' Roses). The Skyliners followed up their major hit with numerous other very popular tunes such as "This I Swear," "Pennies from Heaven," "Warm," "It Happened Today," and "Lonely Way." Beaumont rode the popularity of these songs and never ceased performing.
