SHANDON, Calif. — A 29-year-old man from the Jersey Shore was killed in a crash in California on Tuesday night.

The California Highway Patrol said the Manalapan man, whose identity was not disclosed, was in one of three cars involved in a crash on Route 46 in Shandon, California, which is located 50 miles east of San Luis Obispo.

The man's Honda Civic crossed the median from the eastbound lanes into the westbound lanes and into the path of a 2015 Honda Civic driven by a 66-year-old California woman that broadsided the Civic. A third car with a 35-year-old Washington State man behind the wheel hit the Civic, police said.

The Manalapan man was ejected from his car and sustained blunt force trauma, according to police, who do not suspect drugs or alcohol use leading to the crash.

Authorities had not released the man's name Wednesday afternoon because they had not notified relatives.
