Mind numbing. To think of the senseless carnage in Las Vegas in what is now the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history. New Jersey leaders & celebrities have been sharing their thoughts as the country awoke to this fresh horror on Monday. Soccer pro Carli Lloyd, director Kevin Smith, astronaut Scott Kelly and Governor Chris Christie were among the first to react on Twitter:

Also coming off a weekend in New Jersey (Bedminster & Jersey City) President Trump tweeted "warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting."

I went to an outdoor music festival in Las Vegas, 12 years ago this month. Did security concerns even cross my mind? Not for a second.

Our biggest problem back at Vegoose was getting a ride back to the busy Las Vegas strip from Sam Boyd Stadium. Did I scope out emergency exits and worry about wearing footwear I could run for my life in? No, I had a few drinks and managed to ride share a limo after wandering a parking lot for 20 minutes.

As an avid music fan, my heart just drops thinking of what these victims lost, all for trying to enjoy what is usually a haven from the world's harsh realities. And, what's even more depressing is how many fellow Americans are basically ignoring the actual body count while continuing to bicker on social media.

I honestly couldn't care less what 'side' of the political spectrum you identify with this morning. An astounding number of innocent lives were taken on American soil. Show some respect. If that doesn't warrant a moment of social media silence, than I don’t know what does.
