Interstate 195 West Reopens In Wall

An overturned truck carrying garbage that overturned on Interstate 195 westbound in Wall Township has been cleared and the highway reopened.

The road has been closed between Route 34 and the exit for Route 549 in Farmingdale 12:00 noon as crews cleaned up garbage strewn over both westbound lanes along with a fuel spill. Some traffic  got by on the shoulder.

Drivers reported a strong smell of diesel fuel in the area to the Jersey Shore Hurricane News Facebook page.

Eastbound traffic was unaffected by the closure.

Traffic can use Route 18 north to Route 33 west to get around the closure.
