Darrin Smith, 45, of Whiting, was arrested Friday, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato, who added that investigators are probing whether any other alleged victims have yet to be found.

Smith operates Heritage Construction Enterprrises Corporation.

The indictment alleges that he entered contracts with home owners in Toms River, Ship Bottom, Long Beach Township and Tuckerton, for repair of Superstorm damage, then pocketed more than $75,000 without spending any of it on the projects.

Anyone familiar with the incidents, or with information regarding Smith or Heritage, should call Detective Eric Ludwick in the Prosecutor's Office, 732-929-2027.

Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
