Election Day 2018 has arrived! Yes, it'll be very rainy but your vote still matters and counts in what could be some very close races here at the Jersey Shore.

These are the mid-term elections, so the halfway point of the Trump presidency with congressional elections either benefiting or hurting from decisions made in Washington over the past two years, that's up to you the voter.

The biggest race in New Jersey this year is one to determine if Democratic U.S. Senator Bob Menendez wins a re-election bid to serve another six-years representing the Garden State in Washington or if Republican Bob Hugin can pull off an upset in a Blue State.

The next set of local races that have major significance are the congressional seats for who will represent Ocean, Monmouth and Burlington Counties in Washington for the next two-years.

Republican Tom MacArthur is seeking his third term in Congress representing Ocean and Burlington County in Washington and is challenged by Democrat Andy Kim.

Republican Chris Smith is seeking his 20th term in Congress representing Ocean, Monmouth and Mercer Counties and is challenged by Democrat Joshua Welle.

These three seats will determine who will represent you in Washington and make decision on behalf of your district for the betterment of the country, what happens for the state of New Jersey is up to state lawmakers in Trenton.

As for Countywide races, in Ocean Republican Jeffrey Moran and Democrat Kieran Pillion Jr. will run for the Surrogate office.

The Freeholder race in Ocean County has Republican Gerry Little seeking re-election alongside Lacey Committeeman Gary Quinn who replaces Republican Freeholder John Bartlett Jr. on the ballot due to health concerns forcing retirement.

Little and Quinn are challenged by Democrats Teddy Price and Vince Minichino.

In Monmouth County, Republicans Gerry Scharfenberger and Susan Kiley are challenged by Democrats Amber Gesslein and Larry Luttrell for Freeholder Board positions.

There are various local races across the municipalities at the Jersey Shore that will affect town only voters as well.

You can see all the results as they come in today and find out who won tomorrow by clicking here for Ocean County and here for Monmouth County as County Clerks Scott Colabella and Christine Hanlon and their staffs will work the long hours today monitoring the election activity.
