We're going to approach 90 degrees in spots this week, so the heat and humidity complaining is about to begin at the Jersey Shore.

You know it's coming right? We spend all winter complaining about the wind, the cold, the ice and the snow and we dream of the warmth of the sun and sand and the sound of waves crashing at the beach.

And then the first chance we get, the first real summer day in May, and what happens? We start complaining about the humidity. And in a weird way, that's one of the things I love about the Jersey Shore. We're never completely satisfied.

I think a lot of it has to do with the extreme nature of things around here lately. First of all, we really don't even get a spring anymore. In the winter, when it's cold, it can't just be cold, it has to be polar vortex cold.

And now that the summer is creeping up, it won't just be hot. It'll be hot, humid and intolerable. So maybe it's not this week's weather we're actually going to complain about. Maybe it's just that we know what we're in for.

Either way, I'm one of those guys who will take the heat and humidity every time over any type of winter weather. Give me a Jersey Shore summer any day of the week. You won't hear me complaining. At least not until winter.
