We have certainly dealt with some heat and humidity here at the Jersey Shore this summer and apparently August isn't done with us just yet.

We have all heard this week was going to bring the heat, and it has and will continue to do so. So just how hot are we talking about here? Let's break it all down for you for the next few days.

Advisory. We start with a Heat Advisory issued for western Monmouth County that is in effect from noon today until 8:00pm tomorrow (Wednesday). There is the potential for the heat index to make it feel like between 100 and 104 degrees in the afternoon hours both days.

High temperatures. The thermometers will all read above 90 degrees, probably as high as 93 both today and tomorrow, with the most oppressive weather expected to be inland.

Air Quality Warning There is an Code Orange Air Quality Alert for Coastal Ocean County for the entire day today.

Relief. The good news is there will be relief from the heatwave by Friday. The bad news is it's going to take some Thursday night and Friday thunderstorms to accomplish it. Friday highs will only be about 75 degrees.

So far the forecast features scattered showers throughout the holiday weekend. We'll continue to monitor the weekend weather and update you frequently. Just check Dan Zarrow's weather blog for the latest.
