Monmouth and Ocean Counties are great places to live and raise a family, but how healthy are our counties compared to the rest of the Garden State?

It turns out that both counties are in the top half of the counties in the state, according to countyhealthrankings.org, with Monmouth County coming in slightly healthier than Ocean County.

Both counties were ranked in the top 10 in New Jersey, with Monmouth county ranking 7th and Ocean County coming in at #10. The healthiest county in the state is Morris, and Cumberland is the least healthy, according to the report.

The County Health Ratings is a report by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin's Population of Health Institute, according to an article at northjersey.com.

The report states that there are more factors involved in the rankings than just medical care. Some of the other factors include jobs, housing and education, according to the article.

Additional factors considered in the rankings include quality of life, obesity rates and poverty level.
