WESTFIELD — Terry DiFalco, killed on Saturday when she was struck by an off-duty State Police officer's vehicle, will be laid to rest on Thursday.

A viewing for the 13-year-old, who was a freshman at Westfield High School, is scheduled for Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home in Westfield. Her funeral is Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Helen Church in Westfield.

A condolence page was filled with kind words and a remembrance of DiFalco as a Girl Scout. "She embodied all that a Girl Scout stands for," read a message from her troop.

DiFalco was participating in a scavenger hunt with fellow members of the high school's drama club on Saturday night when she was struck by the officer's service vehicle.

An investigation into the incident on Central Avenue near Wyoming Street continued on Tuesday, according to the Union County Prosecutor's Office, and no charges have been filed. The identity of the State Police officer has not been released.
