Former Pinelands Regional Schools Student arrested for making threat against District

Little Egg Harbor police say an arrest of a former Pinelands Regional Schools student has been made after they submitted a threatening message Thursday morning to the district through an internal messaging system.

Extra police presence and enhanced internal security measures being taken, they say, is out of an abundance of caution.

Police say the threat came from the account of the former student who no longer resides within the district.

The context of the threat was not released by police.

The incident remains under investigation.
