Fire Burns in Manalapan Neighborhood
Fire companies from both Monmouth and Ocean counties responded to a two-alarm house fire in a Manalapan neighborhood.
Several homes near the Twin Lakes Drive residence were evacuated as dozens of firefighters battle the blaze in an area where there are few fire hydrants according to the Asbury Park Press. Units from Robertsville and Jackson were among the companies responding with tanker trucks.
Fueling the flames at the 2-story home were a gas line and a light wind of 10-15 MPH, according to the Monmouth County Police, Fire and EMS Facebook page.
Firefighters are now going through the home looking for hotspots that may exist in walls and voids.
