HACKETTSTOWN — On the same day that a New Jersey resident brought home the title for most pork roll sandwiches eaten in a Trenton contest, two men in the northern part of the state were involved in a fight over stolen pork roll. Or, as the police here refer to it, Taylor ham.

According to police, the incident early Saturday morning may have also "started over beer" along with the popular Jersey delicacy, although police did not explain further.

When police responded to a call at 2:45 a.m. they reported finding a man with "red abrasions and swelling" on the left side of his face.

The wounds, according to police, were caused by 19-year-old Christian Guerra punching the victim several times. Guerra was charged with simple assault and taken to the Warren County Correctional Facility.
