FBI combing Forsythe Refuge in Stafford Township
STAFFORD TOWNSHIP - Heightened police activity creates a stir, as agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation wade into the Forsythe Wildlife Refuge.
Stafford Police Lieutenant James Vaughn placed the core of the probe on Mayetta Landing Road. Doreen Holder of the FBI Newark office disclosed only that it is an ongoing investigation.
Steven Anderson and David Williams, teens at the time, were categorized as developmentally disabled. The Asbury Park Press reported that the agency placed them on its kidnapped and missing person's web listing, with photos of the time and image projections of their approximate appearances now.
FBI descriptions on the page indicates that they were roommates, and were last seen leaving a ball field where they had taken recreation with staffers. David Williams, it was noted, required medication to offset the risk of Grand Mal seizures, and wore a helmet.
Local and county law enforcement agencies characteristically defer to federal investigators when agencies on that level become involved. So far, there has been no response to WOBM's news line from the Ocean County Sheriff's Department or Prosecutor's Office.
This is a developing story. We will have more information as it becomes available.
