Kevin Meier, 23, was arrested in June 2015 on charges of possessing and distributing child pornography. According to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Facebook page, Meier pleaded guilty to distribution in exchange for dropping the possession charge.

The Asbury Park Press reported that prosecutors will seek a five-year prison term with no time limitation for parole eligibility, plus registration as a sex offender and lifetime parole supervision under Megan's Law. Sentencing is scheduled for June 23.

Meier signed on as a special officer in Seaside Heights after his graduation from the Ocean County Police Academy in 2013. The Press noted that he waged an unsuccessful campaign for a Board of Ed seat in the borough in 2015.
