Kevin Meier, 23, of Seaside Heights, was indicted by an Ocean County grand jury on November 29, according to County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato and Seaside Heights PD Chief Thomas Boyd.

Meier faces one count, each, of possession and distribution. He has been free since posting a full $50,000 bail after his June 2015 arrest, and was terminated from the police force as a result of the charges.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children contacted the Prosecutor's High Tech Crime Unit (HCTU) in June 2015, through the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Information compiled by investigators led to Meier's Sheridan Avenue address, where detectives executed a search warrant.

Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
