New Jersey native JOHN TRAVOLTA is 63 today. He's led a long and varied career. Our first real chance to see him was in the movie Carrie. From there he made a splash in television as Vinnie Barbarino on Welcome Back, Kotter. While the TV show was still hot, he starred in two blockbuster films - Saturday Night Fever and Grease. After a few more films, his star cooled a bit, but he came back bigger and better than ever in the 1990s with Pulp Fiction, and shows no signs of stopping. Most recently he successfully returned to the small screen for an Emmy-nominated role in the much lauded People vs. O. J. Simpson. He is also an experienced pilot. Lest we forget his hit records (see one below). Happy birthday, John. Grease is still the word.
