An investigation is underway in Stafford Township after a male teenager allegedly blew past a stop sign in a Hyundai Elantra near the intersection of Nautilus Drive and Treasure Avenue striking a Ford Taurus with two elderly individuals inside around 9 am Sunday morning.

The teen was driving at an undisclosed speed at the time of the crash which resulted in air bag deployment in both cars.

Both cars also sustained significant damage resulting in a tow of both vehicles.

The Ford Taurus had been heading northbound on Nautilus Drive when it was hit, and both the driver, 87-years old and his female passenger 84-years old requested medical attention for chest pain.

They were transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center for treatment, while the two male teens in the other car sustained no reported injuries.

The accident remains under investigation. The driver of the Elantra was issued a summons for a failure to stop.
