OCEAN CITY — Kaitlyn Schoeffel of Egg Harbor Township was crowned Miss Jersey on Saturday and will represent the state at the Miss America pageant.

The 23-year-old Montclair State University graduate won the swimsuit competion on her way to winning the pageant held in Ocean City. Her platform is "Operation Empowerment."

"This has been a lifelong dream of mine, words can't even describe how I'm feeling right now. The support from everybody, I have no words," Schoeffel told 6 ABC Action News.

The first runner up at the pageant in Ocean City was Olivia Michael of Bergenfield followed by second runner up  Amanda Rae Ross from Galloway, third runner up Jaime Gialloreto from Woolwich Township and fourth runner up was  Natalie Ragazzo of Ocean City.
