I have a Shiddle, part shitzu part poodle his name is Norman Levy the sweetest most energetic dog you'll ever meet (yes I'm biased). Now, yesterday was really a hot day and Norman Levy was very lazy and as usual I blasted pictures of him all over facebook (he really should have his own page he has a following) of him just laying there and some of my friends commented, "are you getting him shaved for the summer?"  "you really should get him shaved for the summer" and "I always get mine shaved for the summer."

Well part of Norman Levy's personality comes from the way he looks and I'm hesitant to do that but if it'll make him feel comfortable I'll put my feelings aside because anything for my fur babies comes before my needs or wants.

So what's the first thing I do?  Yup, Google it  and I'm happy I did, according to the ASPCA they say don't. As much as we would never think of wearing a fur coat during a 90 degree day theirs actually keep them cooler. Ok, so, now I know Norman Levy's next visit to the groomer will not be for a haircut but just for his normal tubby (bath). I'd like to know if you have a long haired dog  will you be shaving it? I'd love to see pictures!
