Toms River Police and Fire Crews are detouring traffic along Water Street in downtown Toms River this morning after an apparent fuel spill along the roadway.

A truck was heading south on Hooper Avenue from Washington Street leaking fuel when it turned right onto Water Street still spilling fuel while driving towards Main Street, Toms River Police Spokesman Ralph Stocco told WOBM News.

"We are awaiting a sand truck and tow truck," Stocco said at 10:15 am.

Cleanup is likely to get underway soon and will probably take some time to clean up as we head towards lunch time traffic.
