EATONTOWN — The robber who held up a Jersey Shore drug store at gunpoint — and fired at police — is still on the loose.

Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said a male wearing a scarf demanded the clerk at AllTown Pharmacy on Wyckoff Road in Eatontown hand over prescription drugs on Tuesday night around 6:45 p.m.

The man left the store on foot when police arrived and fired as he ran to the adjacent Michael's shopping plaza, according to police. He then got into a car and drove off on Route 36 westbound toward Route 18 and the Garden State Parkway, Gramiccioni said.

Gramiccioni said the suspect was wearing a tan-colored hooded jacket with black gloves and jeans.

The store is located next to a diner and across the street from an apartment complex.  The Monmouth Mall is located across Route 36 from the pharmacy.

The prosecutor asked anyone with information about the suspect or robbery to call his office at 800-533-7443.
