TRENTON — A man was charged with possessing 441 bricks of heroin with a street value of nearly $88,000.

Jamal Evans, 26, under investigation by the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force, was arrested after he threw a bag with 15 bricks of heroin into a neighbors yard while running from the officers on Thursday afternoon, according to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri

A search of his Race Street home turned up $17,531 in cash in his bedroom and living room. Another 426 bricks of heroin was found hidden in the neighbor's yard, according to Onofri.

Evans is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute, possession with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. He is being held at the Mercer County Jail.

According to NJ.com Evans was found  in June, 2012 at a Race Street home with over 100 decks of heroin trying to dump it down the sink.
