Mansfield and Burlington County detectives led the probe, under the direction of former Burlington County Detective Wayne Raynor, now in the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

Assistant Prosecutor Robert VanGilst conducted the state's case.

"We are gratified for Mr. Dewyer's family that today's sentence reflects the magnitude of their loss and the seriousness of this defendant's crime, and sends a message that homicides in Burlington County will be aggressively prosecuted and severely punished," Coffina said in prepared remarks.

"I commend our detectives and the Mansfield Police Department for conducting a thorough investigation, and Assistant Prosecutor VanGilst for presenting a compelling case, that resulted in this significant sentence."
