That's where shore Representative Tom MacArthur (R-3) maintains his district offices, and that's where he's filling Spring internship positions. Applications are available at the Congressman's web page. The deadline to apply is December 16.

In New Jersey and in Washington, DC, student interns gain an understanding of the role of a Congressional representative, working on constituent matters, communications, and legislative research.

The program offers a chance to learn the legislative process, and how to apply it to concerns of taxpayers in the Third Congressional District.

Shelby Logan of Westampton, an International Affairs major at George Washington Univeristy, encapsulates the experience:

"The best part of interning for Congressman MacArthur was learning about what issues are important to my hometown and how representatives work for their constituents. Interning in Congressman MacArthur's office has given me not only a professional experience, but also the chance to see the government in action and the inner workings of the legislative branch"
