Samuel James, 27, of Burlington City, is also charged with two weapons-possession counts in connection with the death of Byron Turner, also of Burlington City, on August 20, according to the office of Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina.

James awaits arraignment in the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly, where he's been held on $1,000,000 bail since his arrest two days after the shooting.

Police summoned to the 100 block of Federal Street just before 7 PM found Turner with a gunshot wound to the head. Turner was pronounced dead three hours later at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden.

James was arrested in Barrington at the home of an acquaintance, by members of the Burlington County Sheriff's Warrant Unit in collaboraiton with the US Marshals Service NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Authorities did not disclose whether James has retained an attorney. The state's case is led by Assistant Prosecutor Matt Lynch.

Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
