Brick resident hospitalized with head injury following car accident

A car accident in Brick Township just after 3 am Sunday morning sends a 26-year-old resident to Jersey Shore Medical Center with a head injury after he was struck by a car.

Investigators say 34-year-old Joseph Lewis of Lakewood was driving southbound on Lanes Mill Road, passing Stephan Road when Patrick Brennan walked into the right lane near Brick Liqours.

Lewis, the driver, got out and immediately called 911 and remained on the scene of the accident according to police.

The Brick Police First Aid Squad transported Brennan to the hospital where his current condition is unknown.
