Bomb threats close Bergen County Courthouse, 3 college campuses

HACKENSACK — Bomb threats were made to the Bergen County Courthouse and Bergen County Community College's three campuses on Thursday morning.

NorthJersey.com reported the courthouse was evacuated around 10 a.m. and everyone was asked to go across the street. K9 units and a bomb squad searched the building and cleared the building  by 11 a.m., the report said.

Bergen Community College's campuses in Paramus, Hackensack and Lyndhurst were evacuated. The school posted on its Facebook page there was "no credible threat." All three locations are closed until 2 p.m.

The threat claimed that grenades had been placed around the courthouse and Bergen Community College campus in Paramus, Lyndhurst and Hackensack, according to the Daily Voice.

Streets were closed around the courthouse including Main Street, Court Street and County Place.

NorthJersey.com reported three threats were made last Friday against a judge and the courthouse.

A call to the Bergen County Sheriff's Department has not yet been returned.
