Several people are rescued after a boat flips over in the Barnegat Bay in Lavallette Saturday night.

Most of the ten people on board were thrown into the water around 7:15 pm, about 100 yards from the Pershing Avenue waterfront near Stooling Point, according to The Ocean Signal.

The Lavallette Fire Department, Seaside Heights Station 44 and the Ocean Beach Volunteer Fire Company rescued most of the people thrown overboard. Nearby boaters and personal watercraft riders also helped pull people from the water.

The boat driver was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Several other victims were treated on land for minor injuries.

The New Jersey State Marine Police are investigating the incident.
