I know we’ve mentioned this before but I don’t know if I have ever seen state, county and local roads in worse shape than right now.

Potholes are growing larger by the day, cracks are everywhere and a smooth drive has become a rarity.  While you can blame much of it on weather and ongoing and endless road construction projects throw neglect into the mix as well.

These problems are not going to fix themselves but it sure seems like we better get used to them as it’s just another sign of general decay that seems to be prevalent today.

Whether you like Tiger Woods or not there is no doubt he is good for the game of golf which is why there is so much hype and excitement over The Masters which gets underway this morning in Augusta, Georgia.  Woods’ return from a series of health issues has boosted TV ratings over the past month and brought more attention to golf’s first major of the year and its signature event.

I’m one who has always been a Tiger fan and can tell you that if he’s in contention over the weekend then I will be glued to the TV.

Here’s another sure sign that spring is indeed here, even if you don’t feel it.  The Lakewood BlueClaws open the 2018 season tonight in Kannapolis, North Carolina and after 7 games on the road will play their home opener a week from tonight at FirstEnergy Park.

All 140 BlueClaws games can be heard on Beach Radio 1160 & 1310 with Greg Giombarrese back for a 10th consecutive season as the voice of the Phillies Class “A” affiliate.  Sonny’s Recycling of Waretown is the presenting sponsor of the BlueClaws baseball broadcasts.

With schools closed this week and many people away on vacation it seems like the local traffic is considerably less than usual.  With bigger gaps it at least allows you more time to dodge potholes. I wanted to finish up on a more positive note.
